FAQ's

No matter how complex the question,
Mazacom has the solution.

Does your system have a single point of failure?

Can you interface to my beds?

Yes. Telligence can connect to your beds to support patient calls, entertainment and light controls. If your beds can generate a Bed Exit alarm these can be managed by Telligence. Bed status boards showing data such as bed angle and rails up/down are a bed management system, and these systems operate independent of nurse call. If the bed management system generates a bed alarm (angle, wheel locks, rails down and bed height), through Unite we can deliver the alarm to the appropriate caregiver.

What kind of reports can I run?

We offer a number of report templates to simplify the report generating process. For example a 13-week Historical report showing trends, a Full Event list, and most widely used is the Exception report. The Exception report allows a nurse manager to set target response times, see performance against targets, and look into trends (unit, shifts, etc.) where responses meet or miss identified benchmarks. Reports can be set to automatically run on a schedule and be e-mailed on a defined schedule.

Does your system require middleware?

Ascom creates its own nurse call and software platform allowing it to operate as a single unified system. Ascom is the only manufacturer providing a true end-to-end solution; mobility, software, and nurse call.

Can a facility supply their own computers/servers?

Yes. If a physical server is desired we have equipment specifications that can be referenced so you are able to purchase a computer equal to or something that exceeds the requirements.

Does your system interface to a real time locating system?

Yes. Telligence with the Unite software suite interfaces to the four leading RTLS manufactures. This allows auto call cancellation, enables pillow speaker and bed call buttons to be a staff emergency call button, and creates more accurate reports.

Can I use my own network to support the system?

Yes, we're approved. State health codes require nurse call systems to be UL1069 listed. All primary notifications of nurse call events must happen via UL1069 labeled equipment, including Network switches. Integrations to Telligence for secondary notifications can utilize existing network.
